Course Title: Understanding the Residential Energy Code Requirements for
Mechanical Systems

Course Content:
Focused on Minnesota’s Commercial Energy Code, Radon regulations, and mechanical systems, including the latest code updates. Interactive format with Q&A, practical plan review, and hands-on exercises. Topics include calculating building heat loss, furnace sizing, energy code compliance, mechanical ventilation design, service water heating requirements, and radon control measures.
 
Continuing Education Credit:
Approved for 7 hours of continuing education (CE) by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry for Building Officials and Residential Contractors, including 1 hour of energy code credit.
 
Learning Outcomes:
Gain practical skills for heat loss calculation, furnace sizing, and code worksheet completion
